Something For Everyone
Cold
Spring-on-Hudson, NY (April 28) -- Everyone from collectors and kayakers to
fashionistas and foodies will find riverfront fun this year in Cold
Spring-on-Hudson as part of "Main Street America." The program
is a series of ongoing experiences and special events from May through
December presented by the Cold Spring Merchants Association in this historic
Putnam County
village on the banks of New York's Hudson River.
"We
are Main Street America, literally," said Jane Abbey, founder, Cold
Spring Merchants Association. "Our historic Main Street, now a landmark
district, is filled with antiques stores, unique gift and specialty shops,
restaurants, real estate offices and outdoor outfitters, as well as 19th-Century
family homes and churches. And Main Street flows right down to the narrowest
part of the Hudson River, where our village dock and bandstand offer
panoramic views of West Point Military Academy, Storm King Mountain and the
pristine Hudson Highlands Park. 'Main Street America' is our attempt to
match the variety and value of our visitor activities to our stunning scenic
setting."

and traditional burgers to regional French, Italian, and New
American cuisine. Several charming inns offer lodging, while other types of
